For the Late Shows, Delaine Le Bas will perform Speak The Truth to give audiences a sneak preview of her exhibition which opens at NCA at the end of the month. 

The gallery will be open to the public from 6 - 10.30pm. The performance starts at 8pm and will end around 10pm. 

It is free or pay as you feel to attend the performance. There will be limited space due to the venue’s capacity and an expected high demand to see the performance. Please arrive early to guarantee a space for the start of the performance. 

Once the performance has reached capacity, we will run a one out one in policy. You are welcome to leave the performance and return as much as you like, according to capacity. 

The performance will involve wet paint. Shoe covers will be provided. We suggest that you do not wear trousers or shirts that drag on the floor and that long coats are removed.

More about the performance

Speak The Truth is a new performance work with roots in Le Bas’s earlier works “Zigeuner Sauce” and “Beware Of Linguistic Engineering,” previously performed in London and Berlin. The title draws from a saying of Le Bas’s Nan (1927–2022), whose words—much like the ancient Sybil of Delphi—echo beyond death, travelling across time, and often not always what the recipient wanted to hear.
